Past Events include:- Summer BallThe editor organised a dinner dance this year, which made about £1800 profit, but that was on the strength of people paying £40 a ticket. The PTA being a charity an' all you'd expect people to pay that, but the last time the suggestion was made, £25 was generally considered to be enough. The 2002 ball never happened, neither did the 2003 ball. Maybe next year. The 2001 ball was held at the RMA in Sandhurst, organised jointly with other Sandhurst PTAs. There was a certain amount of controversy about value for money, and so it has been decided to go it alone in 2002. The 2001 event raised £750 for PTA funds (in 2001-02) against an outlay of £200 (in 2000-01). Quiz NightWe try to run a quiz night every year, primarily as a minor fund-raiser, but also to encourage parents and staff to get to know each other.
Auction of PromisesThe 2003 event made a surplus of £1250. This money has not been earmarked for anything yet. Despite its alleged cancellation, the 2002 Auction of Promises raised the amazing sum of £728 for PTA funds, which will be spent on our current environmental projects. Hearty congratulations to Sally Armstrong-Davies for organising this so well. Ladies NightThe Ladies Night in October 2001 made £312 for the benefit of the school. Car Boot SaleThe 2004 car boot made a surplus of £247. Cheese & Wine EveningThis idea is still in gestation ... Cake StallThis has made a reasonable contribution, as follows: |
